Archos – the French smartphone manufacturing company has recently launched its latest rugged device, touted as the Archos Saphir 50 smartphone. The main highlight of the smartphone is that it comes with IP68 certification that means it is dust and waterproof up to 1m of water for 30 minutes.

The smartphone features a 5.0 inches S-IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that carries the support for 720 x 1280 pixels screen resolution at 294 of ppi pixel density. There is also a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection that prevents phone’s screen from being damaged. It runs on the out-dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box.
It is powered by the MediaTek MT6737 quad core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and for graphics; there is a Mali-T720MP2 graphics processor. On the storage front, the smartphone is equipped with 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage. The phone also comes with the support for MicroSD card for further storage expansion up to 128GB.
As far as the camera is concerned, the smartphone sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, face detection and LED flash. While on the front of the device, there is a 2 megapixel front facing camera for capturing selfies and making video calls.
To power the device, there is a powerful Non-removable Li-Ion 5000 mAh battery buried inside it with Fast battery charging (Pump Express) support. The smartphone is available only in one color option, which is Black.
