Under the first of its affectionate agreement, Sony Music Entertainment desire to work with Above Average to develop new comedy-themed properties around its artists. The new development agreement further frame upon an existing relationship between Sony Music and Above Average. The two companies previously collaborated on the development of “Thank You and Sorry,” the Streamy Award-nominated original docu-series starring RCA Records recording artist Jack Antonoff.
The Head of Original Content for Sony Music Lee Stimmel, delivers “We’re excited to be working with the incredible team at Above Average to create a new slate of programming with Sony Music artists,”. He also adds that “Our work together on ‘Thank You and Sorry’ demonstrates the range of possibilities artists have to broaden their connection with their fans in fresh and unexpected ways.”
The President of Above Average Jennifer Danielson mentions “From our work on our webseries ‘Sound Advice,’ to our collaboration with Sony Music on ‘Thank You And Sorry,’ we’ve long wanted to expand the amount of content we develop involving musical artists. With this deal with Sony Music and their phenomenal roster of artists, we’re excited to create the new leading intersection of music and comedy.”
